Drawing is the basis of Gosia Wlodarczak’s practice, extending towards performance, interactive situations, installation, sound, and moving photo collage – she refers to this as transdisciplinary drawing. Quiet RIOT Creative Director Linda Catalano met Wlodarczak

whilst working together on Flash Forward, a City of Melbourne and Victorian State Government that was designed to showcase Melbourne’s creative culture and unlock the potential of some of the city’s laneways and arcades.

They have worked together on the following projects:

FROST DRAWING: DRAWING IN CONTAGION FOR CITY OF MELBOURNE (2021)

This 21-day performance drawing and installation took place on the glass facade and internal space of Shop 8-10, in The Royal Arcade at a time when Melbourne was experiencing significant rolling lockdowns due to Covid.

FROST AND SOUND DRAWING FOR MELBOURNE RECITAL CENTRE

For 21 days, artist Gosia Wlodarczak will investigate the intersection between art and life, architecture and performance through the act of drawing on the iconic glass honeycomb window facade of the Melbourne Recital Centre. The artwork created will be informed and shaped by Wlodarczak’s observations and experiences whilst she is in residence.
